Congress Is Seeking Early Stocking Stuffers For The Merchants Of Death
As we break out the turkey basters and pie tins, Senators Jack Reed (D) and Jim Inhofe (R) of the Senate Armed Services Committee are preheating the oven of the U.S. war machine with some major league boosts in “defense” spending.
Under the guise of replenishing dwindling arms stock piles due to the United States support of Ukraine, the two Senators have introduced an amendment to the FY2023 National Defense Appropriation Act (NDAA) that would enact some massive Pentagon purchasing power while at the same time removing key safeguards against Defense Contractor price gouging. Yes, in a time of massive inflation and recession brought on by corporate greed, these two Senators are putting their trust in the good natured souls of the arms industry to not fleece the hell out of U.S. taxpayers.
