If you like your summertime madness hot and smokey, you must be loving living in the United States right now. With half the country burning up and the other half breathing toxic air it’s beginning to look a lot like hell, from sea to shining sea here in the land of milk and honey.
CNN is reporting that currently…
“More than third of the US population is under air quality alerts, covering more than a dozen states from the Midwest to the East Coast, as smoke from Canadian wildfires sweeps across parts of the United States,”
Meaning that right now, roughly 120 million U.S. citizens are experiencing what it was like to live in 1980’s Los Angeles, minus the cocaine fueled Hollywood parties. The midwest currently appears to be getting the brunt of the Canadian wildfire fallout. The Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit and Indianapolis metro areas spent the last few days breathing in an atmosphere that air quality experts labeled as “very unhealthy”. Not a little bit, very. And by “very” they meant that citizens in those fine cities actually held the distinction of breathing in the worst air in the world for a few days this week.
Well, at least the U.S. was number 1 in something.
