That, my friends, appears to be the case when it comes to the great Russian Disinformation Campaign of 2016. Remember back when we were all told that one of the main factors behind Hillary Clinton’s shocking loss to Donald Trump was the game changing propaganda Russia spread all over our social media? That the evil Russians, using bot farms and bizarre memes, weaponized Twitter and other social media platforms against us in a winning effort to convince malleable U.S. voters that Clinton was, in fact, working for Satan and that Donald Trump is our only lord and savior. Well, according to the latest scientific research and data, that was all, to put it simply, bullshit.
