Think Tanking Us Into War

The word “propaganda” gets thrown around a lot these days.

We poor souls living in the United States are confronted by propaganda every day. Almost constantly. It’s in our TV’s, Computers, iPhones, hell, even our watches. We are a people constantly being manipulated through words, images, and sounds. We allow it because it’s common, because this daily manipulation isn’t called propaganda. No, we gave it a much more corporate friendly name: mass marketing.

While most of us can forgive the barrage of commercials we see telling us that we are too fat, dumb, and sober to be happy unless we start buying more Happy Meals and Kim Kardashian Weight Loss pills. It’s when we start getting sold on the patriotic joy and splendor of war that I start getting really queasy.

And no one is better at selling the pageantry and business of war than Think Tanks. Military Industrial Complex funded Think Tanks to be exact.
